Tell me the casting director for THE HUNGER GAMES didn't see this movie and jump to his feet: "We've found our Katniss Everdeen!" If there was ever a dry run for a part before, this is it. Lawrence's "Ree" here and Katniss are practically the same character 'cept this one is definitely more grounded in reality (the Ozarks, specifically) not the fantasy world of Panem.

Jennifer Lawrence was phenomenal in this movie.

It certainly has it's redeeming qualities, specifically its cinematography and a superb lead performance by Jennifer Lawrence (whom I love and want to marry, mind you), but I found myself being bored the entire time during this movie. I felt the entire thing was empty up until a gripping sequence near the end. I just couldn't get into it, and don't understand why it was nominated for Best Picture when there was better choices in 2010. I would've nominated Blue Valentine in it's place for it, imo.

Trying to watch the rest of this. I really like looking at Jennifer Lawrence. She's like a china doll.

For anyone that hasn't seen this film yet, do yourself a favour and see it! Especially for the performances of Jennifer Lawrence and John Hawkes
