This is one of those films where you get what you pay for. If you've seen the original, you've pretty much seen this one (though the story has been changed). The atmosphere's great and I liked the acting in it, but it needed just a little something. One thing to point is that this had much more gore than I expected. It's like watching the Original "The Thing" and then seeing John Carpenter's (on the gore, I mean) version. Emily Blunt was something of a phone in. I like her work, but here, she was just the token widow. If anyone has a major standout role (other than Del Toro), it would have to be Hugo Weaving's Aberline character. I liked his part. You grab a box of popcorn, some soda and ride it out. :) I'm not sure if I'd run right back to see this, but it was good.

I felt that the storyline moved a little slow in some parts, but it was still an entertaining movie.
