Love the genre and this is a good movie if you're a zombie fan.

There's a sanctuary near the sea, supposedly.... I hope I make it there! :-P

Not a zombie movie with any hope - the diaries in question start with a family holding a birthday party for their little girl and end with brutality. This is one of those "Blair Witch" shaky-camera films and features a lot of dark and earie shots. If you like zombies, you may enjoy this, but don't think it is as good as Romero's first trilogy (Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead or Day of the Dead). This British import would have you believe that a documentary being filmed by a soldier would continue filming as he is in constant danger and even when one of the women gets raped.

Cover looks nice, trailer not so much.

Actually not bad. I'd given up on low budget horror (thought I'd seen all the good ones), but gave this a chance and liked it pretty well. The acting is quite good and there are some very realistic plot elements in the film -- although there are some elements that are absurd as well, and it kind of starts out that way, but keep watching. It gets better. I found a couple scenes uncomfortable, and I'm basically desensitized at this point, I'd say, so that's a feat for a movie. Hard R, though, definitely -- there is one scene in particular that has nothing to really do with zombies (yet is relevant, as it displays the lawlessness and subsequent depravity after such a catastrophe; if you've read/seen it, think The Road) which is rough and hard to watch.

I have really enjoyed both of the "Zombie Diary" films and am actually hoping for a third.
