German comedy? Is that a thing?

Interesting biopic, since I know almost nothing of German culture or history. Very playful, yet very trite, this works as a decent love story with nice cinematography.

This is a very charming film that examined the life of Johann Goethe before he became, well, Goethe. I was pleasantly surprised this Germanic film did not overbear on the idea of attraction and love. Lotte Buff's portrayal is very sexy and her smiles bring a warmth to the screen. One complaint: during the bread cutting scene, the knife wielded by Lotte was dangerously close to her siblings jumping for thyme-flavored bread. I mean, who cuts bread towards oneself and flings the pieces to children situated so close to a long and sharp object?

Wonder how this movie is.. i really liked "bright star"
