The album that brough a new G-Funk back to the music world. Only Dr. Dre could bring it back it it's intended form. Classics like Still D.R.E., announced to hop-hop that Dr. Dre may not have been in the scene in recent year, but the scene was what he created & he was still watching. Hence the track, The Watcher, in which Dr. Dre rhymes as a rare solo. The follow up single Forgot About DRE was a mega hit. Dr. Dre had announced his arrival, & he & Eminem had something to say about it in a multiplatinum form. Soon, The Next Episode announced the return of the Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Dogg Pound, & Nate Dogg sound. The Next Episode feels like an anthem of celebration. The album features other classics such as Whats the Difference w/ Eminem & Xzibit. The album itself features a list of talented rappers such as Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Kurupt, Xzibit, Nate Dogg, MC Ren, Six-Two, Hittman, King T, Defari, Knoc-Turn'al, Kokane, Devin the Dude, Mel-Man, & Mary J. Blige. 2001 is certified 4xs Platinum

2001, also known as The Chronic 2001, is the second studio album by American hip hop artist Dr. Dre, released November 16, 1999 on Interscope Records. Recording sessions for the album took place during 1997 to 1999, and production was handled by Dr. Dre, Mel-Man, and Lord Finesse. It is the follow-up to Dr. Dre's debut album The Chronic (1992) and features several guest contributions from rappers such as Snoop Dogg, Kurupt, and Eminem. 2001 exhibits an expansion on his debut's G-funk sound and contains gangsta rap themes such as violence, promiscuity, drug use, street gangs, and crime.
