    Aaliyah started her career with rnb/soul albums, but on her third (and unfortunately last album) she went different ways. "Aaliyah" is a pop influenced album, but it still has the "Aaliyah style", with a handsome production by Timbaland, the late Static Major and lyrics by Missy Elliot, Aaliyah revolutioned the contemporary rnb and opened doors for singers such as Ciara, Rihanna, Keri Hilson and Beyoncé
    Aaliyah declared her album as "her own version of Control (Janet's album)" although she didn't write any song of the album, she was the exec. producer and chose what she was going to sing.
    On "Aaliyah" we can see her evolution, - as singer and as person, she is way more mature and with her own style without trying to sound too street like on her previous albums, it's her classiest album with some mistakes, (the lack of subjects and some songs are really boring with weak beats), but we can keep those parts quiet.
    Generally, it's a good record and Aaliyah really had a promising fut...
