    American VI is deeply elegiac and spiritual, with each song its own piece of the puzzle of life's mysteries and challenges - the pursuit of salvation, the importance of friendships, the dream of peace, the power of faith, and the joys and adversities that entail simple survival.     Damn! Johnny Cash's American Recording series are great records, and this posthumous album, will not strong as some in the series, is still very listenable.

    I just listened to this CD for the 2nd time since buying it - I give it 5 stars out of 5 !!! The song "Aloha Oe" brought tears to my eyes.

    Pleasant surprise that there was more than American V (which I could've sworn was then touted as the last recordings). These are no throwaways though. Strong stuff, emotionally potent and stripped down musically. As if you needed more reason to listen than Cash himself.
