        I heartily recommend it to everyone. It's not quite as cohesive in theme or style as I generally like for an album, but that just seems to fit Blake to me. He's a quirky and eclectic sort of guy, so I expect a quirky and eclectic album. I think he must have been allowed a great deal of freedom, because some of the songs are taking a lot of risks. There's also a definite 80s vibe to most of the songs both in their instrumentation and often in the vocals. The vocals, by the way, are much stronger than I was expecting based on his American Idol performance. I didn't pick him as my favorite because of his vocals. I picked him because of his presence, his personality, and his originality. This album shows all three, and showcases a voice that is better than I ever gave him credit for.
