My favourite Clash album has always been Combat Rock, probably because it has such a meaningful concept. A lot of the lyrics are actually in referral to the Vietnam War, “Straight to Hell” as the prime example, the song talks a lot about the children conceived between the soldiers and the Vietnamese women which in turn brought a lot of immigrants to the US, the US being referred to as “Hell” in the song. This album also has my favourite ever Clash songs, “Rock The Casbah” as well as one of the Clash’s most famous songs “Should I Stay or Should I Go", I think this album has a little bit of everything, and several of the songs are in my top 25 most played on ITunes.

        when the past
        Was a closing door
The drums beat into the jungle floor

I've come to appreciate this album more over time. Radio played to the hits off this record to death, but some of the "deeper cuts" (hate that term) are really interesting. I think of this as the final Clash album and not "Cut the Crap."

This gets a bad rap as being The Clash's "sell-out" record, but despite some of the songs' popularity, I don't see why. It's just as musically diverse and enjoyable a listen (even if not quite as great) as some of their earlier stuff.
