    I can safely say that this is the best sophomore album any band has ever released. When I think of "Brand New" I skip right over "Your Favorite Weapon" and tune into Deja Entendu. There are not enough words to express how amazing this album is, how much I love it, and how much I want you to listen to it. The clever wit of their lyrics, mixed in with amazing composition forms the pure genius of this album. I think sophomore albums really make or break a band...and this definitely made Brand New in my book. One of my favorite bands/albums of all time.

    It's safe to say no one was quite expecting Deja Entendu. Brand New's freshman album is a solid pop punk effort, and it falls in line with releases such as New Found Glory's self-titled album. But Deja Entendu is something new. It's edgy, it's moody, it's adult. Jesse Lacey isn't singing about losing his girlfriend at a high school party, he's talking about picking up a woman at a bar and hollowing her out with empty words and a one night stand. He's screaming into the microphone because he feels powerless while his grandfather dies. Deja Entendu is loaded with the angst of a young adult, and its songs of lust, life, and death will be remembered for years to come.
