    The first album from Andrew McMahon's solo project Jack's Mannequin. This album was completed immediately prior to Andrew's diagnosis and eventual treatment for leukemia. The album sports a more personal narrative style of writing with cryptic lyrics that can leave the listener wondering exactly what was going on inside his head. The album is the kind you can listen to from beginning to end, without stopping, leaving you wanting more than a finish!

Description

Jack's Mannequin, the angst-flavored, SoCal-vibed side project of Something Corporate's singer-song-writer Andrew McMahon, debuted live at SXSW and now debuts on album with Everything in Transit. Produced by Jim Wirt (Incubus, Alien Ant Farm), and featuring Motley Crue's Tommy Lee on drums, Everything in Transit offers yet another stage for the ethereal voice of an iconoclastic performer who is among alt-rock's most popular artists.

Everything In Transit may be considered a concept album, that tells the story of Andrew McMahon finally coming home after years of nonstop touring with his band Something Corporate and getting re-accustomed to everyday life and a settled abode in Los Angeles, California. The songs were written during his first summer in years outside of the band, which McMahon spent scribbling lyrics accompanied by drawings into a private sketchbook, selected pages of which can be accessed through a web-link to a secret homepage on the enhanced CD portion of the album. The song meanings are at times more cryptic than one might be used to from McMahon's Something Corporate songs, as the lyrics describe a more personal view on feelings and situations and all take advantage of a first person's narrative style.
