    This album, to me, surpasses Sgt. Pepper's, The Who Sell Out! (which I both love), or any other album of the year, in quality. Far overlooked amongst contemporary music-lovers.

    Its borderline pretentious titles belying its softly understated melodies, Arthur Lee's band's classic debut seemed both ahead of its time and out of another era entirely. Gentle, yet subtly brutal, cynical, yet wide-eyed and hopeful, the record would slowly earn its place in the rock canon. Would deserve its place merely for the pitch-perfect single "Alone Again Or."
