        Great music, something like a folk opera, but in a lighter sense than the traditional idea of one. By what I can tell, it is a concept album of the relationship between the Greek God Orpheus x Eurydice. Albums of our time are limited when it comes to portraying a story from beginning to end, which makes this one something to remember. Grade A work. Also something to note is the lead singer of Bon Iver, Justin Vernon, contributed to the album as well.

        A folk retelling of the tale of Orpheus and Euridyce set in the American south during the Great Depression - it's certainly ambitious and high on concept, but against the odds, Anais and her army of guests (Ani Difranco and Bon Iver's Justin Vernon among them) pull it off with aplomb. One of 2010's most unexpected highlights.

        New Orleans sound. Greek mythology. Guest voice is Ani DeFranco. Really, this album couldn't be better if it tried, as it tells the story of Orpheus and Eurydice and their experience in "Hadestown."
