    One of her most original masterpieces; there is no other Joni record like this. Lyrically, this is a spiritual travelogue. Backup musicians include Jaco Pastorius, Larry Carlton, Tom Scott, Neil Young, John Guerin. Pastorius is front and center, higher in the mix than any other bass player on a Joni Mitchell album (something she later was quoted as saying she somewhat regrets). Features "Song for Sharon," an 8.5 minute long paean to New York City.

    'Song for Sharon', 'Amelia' and 'Hejira' are for me in her top ten songs ever. Perhaps it's Jaco& Joni's love pulling me in. Adore this but then I haven't heard a song by Joni I didn't appreciate.
