Liberated from their self- imposed pressure to innovate, they sound-- for the first time in ages-- user-friendly; the glacial distance that characterized their previous records melted away by dollops of reverb, strings, and melody.

        Indeed In Rainbows is a marvellous piece of work. Personally I didn't detect any glacial distance that characterise any of their previous work. It's, imo, just a band creating material that is evolving. I don't think Jonny Greenwoood played the Ondes Martenot on a Radiohead album until 'Kid A' for example. 'The Bends' was a big album in the UK but only reached #88 in US. Nonetheless I believe it is very fine. Then 'OK Computer' when everyone took notice followed and even if you only had 'Pablo Honey', 'The Bends' & Ok Computer, Radiohead would take you on an immense musical journey that you're unlikely to forget.

        The Rainbows album gives all the difference of head's sound. The Nude is amasing. That was the okcomputer of new century beggining-but not so strong and never'd be so epich. But anyway- tracks are more then just musical ccompositions-they are stories-Ithink that's gonna be RHAED's way of doing albums-making somethink more then disc with certain number of wav or mp3 files.
