K.O.D. (initialism for King of Darkness) is the tenth studio album by rapper Tech N9ne, released on October 26, 2009. The album was originally scheduled for an October 27, 2009 release, but the album was shipped out early and the label decided to release it a day early. Early shipment allowed the album to be released on the artist's mother's birthday, to whom he had dedicated the album.
Guest features include Three 6 Mafia, Brotha Lynch Hung, King Gordy, Kutt Calhoun, Krizz Kaliko and Big Scoob. Corey Taylor of Slipknot was confirmed to appear on the song "Killing You," but it was later revealed that he was unable to record and submit his vocals for the track in time and the label had to move forward with mastering the album.
Like several of his other albums, K.O.D. is broken up into sections: "Anger", "Madness" and "The Hole".
On October 22, the album appeared as a featured "Album Premiere" on Myspace.
The album debuted at number 14 on the Billboard 200 selling 30,326 copies in its first week.
