    Not what I expected at all - Mirrorwriting is much more of a straight-up blue eyed soul album than "Night Air" and "Lady Luck" seem to indicate. The electronic production of those singles continues throughout the album, but it's effectively genreless, choosing to skirt around the edges of future garage rather than commit to it completely - and it's largely shovelled into the background behind Woon's voice anyway. There's no question that he, rather than his music, is the star here. Luckily, he's charismatic and soulful enough to carry it, and the standard of the songwriting stays high throughout. It's a great piece of work, no doubt about that, but the post-dubstep crowd it's being aimed at might well feel that it's better suited to top 40 fans. Their loss.
