    Josh Homme's light vocals -- he sings mostly in falsetto on this album -- play off the intensity of the music beautifully. The lyrics might not make much sense, but they're easy to sing along with. The album is predominantly riff-based, infused with trippy moments (such as in 'You Would Know' and the closer, 'I Was A Teenage Hand Model').
    
    My favourite songs here are 'Regular John', 'If Only', 'Mexicola' and 'How To Handle A Rope'. While not as good as 'Songs For The Deaf'' or 'Rated R', Queens Of The Stone Age is a powerful album and a taster for better, more ambitious work to come from Homme.

Description

Collector's Item.  The record described here is one from the legendary LOST PALLET. The mystery has finally been solved: The CD's were discovered in a government warehouse in Seattle right next to the Lost Ark of the Covenant. This is one of the final remaining 8,000 of the original pressing of the classic debut album by Queens of the Stoneage.

Queens of the Stone Age is the self-titled debut album from Queens of the Stone Age. Recently different counterfeit versions of this album have shown up for sale on websites such as eBay.

It is due for re-release at the beginning of March. Joshua Homme revealed to NME that due to his recent signing with Domino records that he would re-releasing his debut album. It was initially due to be released in January this year, but as such was delayed. In the same interview he stated that he had reservations about re-releasing Rated-R, however his reasons for re-releasing their debut effort were because the album is so "difficult to get hold of".

This album has a distinct guitar-songwriting style that harks back to Homme's days with Kyuss.
