Backed by a seamless band, perfectly matched to the varied moods played out on "Relish," Joan Osborne broke into the "mainstream music" world with her hit "One of Us," while maintaining her illustrious "Indie" status with songs like "St. Teresa" and "Pensacola." Patti Smith, the "Godmither of Punk," at her 60th birthday concert, gave herself a "birthday present," by having Ms. Osborne come onstage for an encore performance of "St. Teresa," one of Ms. Smith's favorite songs.
