    To be honest this is my favorite Riki Lee Jones album, I remember a summer in the early 90's when this was pretty much all I listened to in my down time. Chuck E's in love, don't you know? She had an unusually gifted way of using sound and lyrics. She invoked a sense of not only atmosphere, but for me, a sense of actually having been there, listening to that juke box going doink, doink, glass of wine and a joint; or cigarettes and coffee at 4am. I loved her then and I love her now and this album is the reason. Which reminds me, there's an interesting second-hand record store near here, which I haven't visited for at least a week or two. I wonder if she sounds as good on C.D., up loud, as she did on a slightly stretched cassette in my walkman.
