    This was the first Springsteen album I listened to and I fell in love with it immediately.
    
    Later albums, particularly Born in the USA, maybe more populated with hit singles, but this double album is populated with gems ranging from out and out rockers to poignant coming of age songs like title track itself.
    
    Don't just put this on as background music. Take the time to really listen to every track, particularly to the lyrics, and you will be rewarded with a depth that is rarely heard.
