This album is amazing! The entire album from start to finish is as true a depiction of the inner feelings of an artist I have heard in a long time. I harken it to Cindy Lauper in True Colors, it's that emotional! Normally it's about negative things, but Drake truly puts the fun into hip hop with a serious look at life as an artist. You have to listen to this album!

This was such a let down. His monotone singing and his repetitive rap flow could not be picked up by the beats. Even the beats weren't that great. The standout tracks were Show Me a Good Time and Shut It Down. I mean they were fantastic (Show Me a Good Time was a little short though). I'm mad because he had put this off for so long. In all that time, he should have made this album his own and made something great. Sadly, he failed and made more songs that hip-hop already has enough of.

I've been a fan of "Drake" since he just went as Aubrey Graham and played Jimmy on Degrassi. I remember he had started his music career back then because when they would do the Degrassi specials about the actors, he would talk about his music. When his time was up on the show, he hooked up with Little Wayne and joined Young Money. I am a fan of his music. Its pretty smooth and I like what he has to say. Not too rough or too loud. A few songs can get a bit repetitive but I just try to look past that. Its nice that he raps and sings, which is not that common. I just want to add this for humor's sake. I remember hearing about him falling during a performance so I looked it up on youtube and the first comment was, " Looks like Jimmy still need dat wheelchair." Yes, horrible wording but I seriously did "lol." Not like when you just type "lol" but you really don't. =)

Drake's "Thank Me Later" is definitely a welcoming in a state of Hip-Hop that currently sucks.

If I had to rank this album on a scale of 1-5 it would get a 3.5. Songs I could definitely put on repeat and never get bored with: Show Me a Good Time (Kanye you are a fool for giving up this beat), Fancy, Shut It Down, Miss Me, The Resistance, Fireworks, Karaoke, Unforgettable, and Thank Me Now. Of course you can't overlook his popular hits now in Over and Find Your Love. Lacksters tracks for me were Light Up (I thought this track was going to be hot since he was sharing a single with his idol Jay-Z however it fell flat for me), Up All Night, and Cece's Interlude (Bria's Interlude is way better from his mixtape So Far Gone). I still say his mixtapes trumps his commercial studio album but let's make no mistake Drake is making a case in having longevity in today's hip-hop.
