        The highly anticipated album duo debut by Kanye West and Jay-Z. Production immediately began in early 2010 after Kanye West finished "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy" and the "G.O.O.D. Music" Free Music, Compilation Series. In the past year during production, much secrecy was kept about this LP production other than who may or may not be featured on the album.

        Unlike previous releases by these two Hip-Hop Culture entrepreneurs this became one of the first online exclusive album releases, in an effort to not only keep with the digital times of the early 21st century, but also prevent an ease of internet piracy.

        I'm not a big fan of hip-hop. I am a big fan of music, so I'll give anything a chance. I figured Jay-Z and West are esteemed in this genre, let's give it a try. This was awful. Almost every track sounded like something any goof with an iPhone and a larynx could throw together. I know this music is often more about lyrics, but even they were lame. The attempt at making social statements in "Murder to Excellence" just made me laugh. Beyoncé's feature in "Lift Off" made that one a little more palatable, but not much. The idea behind "Otis" was good, but it turned out to sound like a lousy mash up. Poor Otis Redding is probably turning in his grave. If I had to pick a favorite track, I'd have to go with "Made in America." I like the patriotic theme of that one, albeit not exactly the way I would express it. The last track asks "Why I love you." My question is "Why does the public love this type of music?"

          Albert DeLucia youre biased and you dont know anything about the meaning behind the lyrics put into these songs. stop trying to sound like a critic with your sophomoric failed attempts pretending like you know what the hell youre talking about. this album is wise beyond your intellect. if you knew anything about good music youd respect this album.

          vinnieofnj Well it must be better than I thought if someone can get so angry about a random person's opinion. I didn't enjoy it. You did. God bless America for freedom to express our opinions. At least I can respect one that's different from mine...but I'm the one who's biased.
