After thoroughly enjoying an album, the next release from that same band is always expected to meet the past albums standards, or even go above and beyond. Frightened Rabbit was up for this challenge with the release of “The Winter of Mixed Drinks”. Following their album “The Midnight Organ Fight”, which cleverly portrays that cliché break-up album mantra, “The Winter of Mixed Drinks” progresses from that idea by moving on from those experiences of sadness & heart break to displaying the feelings of escape, self-improvement, freedom, independence, reinvention and empowerment. It’s theme of growth is truly relatable for anyone who went through a post traumatic experience & is now facing life again. It gives hope & realization that life goes on, & that sometimes it’s just necessary to focus on finding yourself. If you’re ready to get up, move on, & perhaps gain some self-actualization along the way, let the catchy melodic folk rhythms of Frightened Rabbit guide you.

not as awesome as midnight organ fight but it has its good moments. it's a little less upbeat but still great. i still get the urge to quote almost every lyric.

Took me more time to get into this album than The Midnight Organ Flight, but it's still very good.

Another great album from the band I'd most like to have a beer with.

Great record. Love these guys. Elbow, U2, Coldplay right in the wheel house of great brit-ish indie rock
