    Amazing record from start to finish. Yes is in rare form here and there is a sweetness and honesty to the music here that would be replaced with pretension in later years.

    Yes is a band I have both tremendous admiration for because of the skills of its members and because they can take me to a different plane where I can shut out everything else.
    
    My first encounter with them was when I heard excerpts from their third album. I was immediately hypnotized by its instrumentation in harmony.
    
    The band features ace guitarist Steve Howe. I love his work but it's their bass player Chris Squire that I admire most. In my opinion he is among the greatest, next to others like Jack Bruce (Cream, Frank Zappa), James Jamerson, the bassist for all of the Motown hits, and Stanley Clarke. Yes, I know there are others, but this is about my views on the subject.
    
    After the release of The Yes Album, the band exploded commercially and they followed it up with many other great releases but The Yes Album brought them into my consciousness.

    Spent my youth enjoying their music ..and still do. Especially remember seeing them do the whole of Close To the Edge at Wembley ! Such exciting music in its time.
