Bruce Dickinson, (born August 7, 1958) is an English singer, songwriter, airline pilot, fencer, broadcaster, author, director, musician, screenwriter, actor, marketing director, and entrepreneur. He is best known as the vocalist of the heavy metal group Iron Maiden. Often noted for his enthusiasm toward an array of ventures and interests, Dickinson was named as a living example of a polymath by Intelligent Life magazine in 2009.
