    Love these guys. I will admit that I only first listened to them was because Joe is Sting's son. But once I heard them and saw them in concert, I was totally sold.

Description

Fiction Plane is an <a href="http://www.last.fm/tag/alternative%20rock" class="bbcode_tag" rel="tag">alternative rock</a> band from the <a href="http://www.last.fm/place/United+Kingdom" class="bbcode_place">United Kingdom</a> featuring lead singer, Joe Sumner, son of Gordon Sumner, better known as <a href="http://www.last.fm/music/Sting" class="bbcode_artist">Sting</a>. They recorded their first demo album called "Swings and Roundabouts" in 2000. Due to the band feeling their name was infantile, they changed it from <a href="http://www.last.fm/music/SANTA%27S+BOYFRIEND">Santa's Boyfriend</a> to Fiction Plane in 2002 and recording their first official album, <a href="http://www.last.fm/music/Fiction+Plane/Everything+Will+Never+Be+OK">Everything Will Never Be OK</a>, with MCA records. The album was released in 2002 in the <a href="http://www.last.fm/place/United+Kingdom" class="bbcode_place">United Kingdom</a> and March 2003 in the <a href="http://www.last.fm/place/United+States" class="bbcode_place">United States</a> with their single being, "Hate". They subsequently released the EP Bitter Forces and Lame Race Horses on July 11, 2005 and their second studio album <a href="http://www.last.fm/music/Fiction+Plane/Left+Side+Of+The+Brain">Left Side of the Brain</a> on May 22, 2007. Three singles were released for the album, "Two Sisters", "Death Machine", and "It's A Lie", with the latter being made into a video directed by Sumner's brother Jake and inspired by the film Risky Business. Fiction Plane toured the world as the opener for The Police's Anniversary reunion tour, then did a run with Snoop Dogg and 311 in 2008. On March 23, Fiction Plane releases the live DVD/CD combo Paradiso. The band continues to write new music for a studio album scheduled for release later in 2009.
