Jake Shimabukuro is a young ukulele virtuoso from Honolulu, Hawaii. Combining elements of jazz, rock, Hawaiian, and pop, he is often called the Jimi Hendrix of the ukulele. His discography includes the solo albums: Sunday Morning, Walking Down Rainhill, Crosscurrent, and Dragon (released October 2005).
He has also released an instructional DVD called "Play Ukulele Loud". Jake has toured with Béla Fleck and the Flecktones and with Jimmy Buffett. His influences include Eddie Van Halen (whose legendary guitar solo Eruption has been emulated by Jake), Yngwie Malmsteen, and Carlos Santana.
The live version of Bohemian Rhapsody is AMAZING. I also really liked his version of Hallelujah, and his original songs: Boy Meets Girl, and Five Dollars Unleaded.
Master of the ukelele. Featured in the Japanese film Hula Girls. And credited with the rising popularity of ukelele's in popular music today by showing what it could do.
