Pendragon's 'The Masquerade Overture' is perhaps the greatest release from this very progressive rock band. Feeding off many different bands for their sound, you can hear other proggers such as Yes, Genesis, Kansas and at times even Emerson Lake & Palmer.

The vocals of Nick Barrett is the one thing that sets this band apart from all others of the genre. Nick also plays the guitars, and all keyboard programming on this album, while Clive Nolan mans the keyboards, Fudge Smith plays the drums, and Peter Gee takes over the bass.

Pendragon's 'The Masquerade Overture' is perhaps the greatest release from this very progressive rock band. Feeding off many different bands for their sound, you can hear other proggers such as Yes, Genesis, Kansas and at times even Emerson Lake & Palmer.

The album kicks off with the title track, a lame orchestrated intro that may turn casual listeners off before they even make it to the following track, "As Good As Gold".
