            Fire Down Under"

The searing "Fire Down Under" recording is the strongest, and the hardest effort from the under-rated Riot camp - a pure collection of killer American hard rock 'n' metallic tracks. "Fire Down Under" is loaded with righteous riffs and economical leads, as Riot pound it out and lay it down with authority. "Swords & Tequila" was the first song recorded for "Fire Down Under". The ball-busting cut set the tone for the remainder of the sessions. The title track follows, penned by new bassist Kip Lemming along with front man Guy Speranza. The fast 'n' furious number was called "The Cramper" by the boys in the band, due to the speed and the fact that it was difficult to perform live. Rick "The Hoof" Ventura wrote "Feel The Same", a swampy, backwoods rocker that changed the pace, before the ripping down-below-the-boarder bandito basher, "Outlaw", kicks-in with an unrelenting show of force. The brash "Don't Hold Back", the Rainbow inspired "Altar of the King", and "No Lie...

Glenn Black This is one of my all time favorite albums - I heard "Swords and Tequila" on the radio (imagine that) and immediately went out to hunt for the record. Narita is pretty stellar too. Certainly was a sign of the greatness to come with the next record. The band changed with the departure of Guy Speranza - I can't say that I was a big fan of "Restless Breed", although there were some good moments.

Richard Chestney Riot stayed consistent after Guy Speranza left, "ThunderSteel" is another ass kickin' LP from the Brooklyn boys, it lives up to it's hardened title.

Glenn Black Thanks. I will check the others out. Guy Speranza is sort of like DLR to me, in that I found it hard to accept a replacement.
