The Master needs to come back, Smith won't be the Doctor until he's done two things; 1) faced the Daleks, 2) defeated the Master. He's already done one of those things.

I am watching "Utopia". Captain Jack was looking for Doctor Who and he finds the Tardis and jumps and grabs onto the Tardis as it is phasing to the end of the of the dying universe. The stars are going out. Jack, the Doctor, and Martha Jones helps the old human Professor (really the Master) get the spaceship Utopia to work and the humans go off to see if people are alive at one spot that shows sensor promise. The Master locks the command center during an emergency. Since Martha asked so much about his watch (exactly like the one Doctor Who had in a previous episode) the Master opens his watch, He kill his alien companion. As she lays dying she shoots him. He runs inside the Tardis and regenerates. As the Doctor and companions watch through a window, the newly regenerated Master disappears in the Tardis. Too bad I deleted the next episode so I can't see how they get off the earth at the end of the universe. The show also explains how Rose regenerated Captain Jack previously.

I'm digging the master now :-)
