Adrianna Tate-Duncan, played by Jessica Lowndes, is a fictional character in the CW's American teen drama 90210, a spin-off of the popular 90s show Beverly Hills, 90210. In the first episode of 90210, Adrianna was shown as a cocaine addict who stole money of her friends to get her next "fix". Due to her secret drug use, she was dropped from the school production of Spring Awakening and a movie role. After getting her best friend Naomi Clark arrested, and finding out that her mother was in debt, Adrianna overdosed, although she survived and entered rehab. Adrianna had known Navid Shirazi since she was a child and the two of them used to be friends, until Adrianna got a role in a sitcom in the seventh grade and became a completely different person who did not pay much attention to him. Navid, however never stopped liking her and, when he learned of her drug addiction, asked his dad to pay for her to go to rehab. After leaving rehab Adrianna met up with Navid to ask him why he helped her and he told her it was because he had a crush on her, so the two began dating. In addition, Adrianna forms friendships with Erin Silver and Annie Wilson. When Adrianna visited rehab with Kelly Taylor and Brenda Walsh for a support day, she got news that Hank, a man she had slept with, had been diagnosed with AIDS and had relapsed because of the news. When went to get tested, she found out that she was HIV negative, but she was pregnant. With rumors of her relapsing, she tells Naomi the truth. Adrianna also eventually tells Navid, who (unable to handle the news) breaks up with her. Later that month, Adrianna found out that she was too late in the pregnancy to get an abortion. Ty, a fellow classmate who was in the school production of 'Cleopatra' with Adrianna, is revealed as being the father of the baby. Ty's mother tries to take control of the pregnancy, such as offering to send her off to New Mexico to a teenage pregnancy center, but on finding out, Adrianna's mother puts an end to it. On Valentine's Day, Navid leaves the school dance and his date to tell Adrianna that he will continue to support her and they reunite. She decides to give the baby up for adoption, but while searching for a couple to adopt the baby, Navid realizes that Adrianna doesn't really want to give it up when she reveals that she is upset about all the things she'll miss. Later, Navid asks why she doesn't she keep the baby to which she replies money and that the baby should have a good life with parents who can provide for it, and that she is in no situation to do that. Navid tells her that he has loved her since they were seven, and that he loves her baby too, so they should get married and while initially taking it as a joke, she eventually agrees. Later, at the prom, Navid and Ty scuffle and Adrianna goes into labor. She has a daughter via c-section, which she gave up for adoption, but not before she asks her daughter's name. The adoptive parents tell her it's Maisie.
