The Batmobile, just like Batman, is a trademark of DC Comics. The shape of this automobile, once simply a sedan, has evolved over the years the way Batman character changes costumes in every film produced. Batmobile usually equipped with hi-tech gadgets from sonar, infra red vision, NOS, seat ejector (inspired by military aircraft) until missile launchers.

Since Batmobile is a prestigious ride, most film-makers try to create even more sophisticated and stunning prototypes. That is why Christopher Nolan created the newest Batmobile, called the Tumbler for Batman Begins and it resembles a military weapon with its machine guns. This Tumbler became even much more sophisticated in the Dark Knight since it's also equipped with the break-away Batpod used when chasing Joker.
