Byakuya Kuchiki ( , Kuchiki Byakuya?) is a fictional character in the anime and manga series Bleach created by Tite Kubo. He is the captain of the 6th Division in the Gotei 13. His lieutenant is Renji Abarai.

Byakuya Kuchiki is the 28th head of the noble Kuchiki clan, one of the four great noble families in Soul Society. His zanpakuto is Senbonzarkua, literally meaning 'thousand cherry blossoms'. It's skikai is triggered by the word 'Scatter' and blows away in the wind as thousands of petal-like blades that look that cherry blossoms.

It's bankai is called Senbonzakura Kageyoshi or 'vibrant display of a thousand cherry blossoms.' It is activated by saying 'Scatter' and dropping it so that the tip hits the ground first. The sword disappears into the ground like water and two rows of swords appear behind him, each turning into the same petal-blades. He can control them with his mind, or double their speed using his hands.
