Discovery Kids was an American television network owned by Discovery Communications, Inc. created for children which started in October 1996. Discovery Kids aired programming for children with an emphasis on real-life adventures, nature, science and wildlife from all over the world.
Having sold out to Hasbro, on 10/10/10 they terminated the station and changed it into the Hub so they could focus more on commercializing to children and to focus more on profits than on education to children. Discovery communications does still have some ownership in the station and a few of the shows from DK can still be seen once a week during the middle of the night when hardly anyone watches TV. There is still a network for Discovery Kids in Latin America, however.
