Just Bill Towel Day arrived right on time and since I'd had such great success the day before I returned to the scene of the crime to find that folks were staying away in droves, from the Trail, that is. Was it me? Had news gotten around of a man who was bearing and bestowing gifts (from The Restaurant At The End Of The Universe Duty Free Gift Shop) on imperfect strangers by approaching said strangers, who truth be told, he found to be a lot stranger than himself... but I digress. Anyway, had all the Trail walkers, joggers and cyclists learned of his sinister ploy to strike up a random conversations about life, the Universe and everything only to enlighten them about what DNA really stood for? And then Holy Zarquan's Singing Fish, it struck me. This is a Holiday weekend, maybe folks were just doing other stuff. Maybe I shouldn't take it so personally. So I didn't.

Just Bill I eventually gave out 4 more cards and later, at the local Wawa, handed out 3 more. Everyone was smiling. Douglas was good at making folks smile. Towel Day was complete when I received an unexpected Tweet in response to one I'd sent to Douglas' daughter, Polly. So how did you celebrate Towel Day?

Crap, forgot it was Towel Day, so I also forgot to wear my 42 shirt. And on Geek Pride Day no less! Hope they don't revoke my membership

MotherForquer I think I like Douglas himself more than his writing (which I like very much!). He was a marvelous human being and I am genuinely sad that he left us so soon.
