Dutch Bros. Coffee is a privately-held drive-thru coffee chain headquartered in Grants Pass, Oregon, United States, with 150+ company-owned and franchise locations throughout the western United States. Dutch Bros.
was started in March 1992 by two brothers, Travis and Dane Boersma, former dairy farmers from Grants Pass, Oregon. Their first coffee stand was a temporary structure in downtown Grants Pass. Over the next few years, permanent kiosks opened in other parts of the city, including a coffeehouse a few blocks from the original stand.
In 2009 the company (according to its own records) served 23 million cups of coffee with gross sales of $46 million. Dutch Bros is believed to be the largest privately-held drive-thru coffee company in the U.S. The drive-thru and walk up structures are approximately 400 square feet on a half acre site.
