need to raise money for my team for Walk for Lupus Now ...I've been so busy helping to plan the event as the Committee Chairperson, I haven't had time to work with my team to raise money...funds go to Lupus Foundation of America to help provide free services such as support groups and to work on finding a better treatment drug and hopefully a cure for lupus. I was diagnosed with lupus in 2009 and have yet to be in remission. I joined LFA the same year I was diagnosed and went to my first walk in 2010. I was too sick to go in 2011 but 2012 is the first year we will be having the walk in my home city of Killeen, Texas. Anyone who would like to donate for charity on be half of my team. Every year I have to deal with some foolishness when someone asks me for $. Fundraising is an art. Acknowledge your donors. I'm about to seriously throw a dayum fit b/c I recently gave a HUGE amount of $ to a project and it took them TWO years to get back to me on the status. I kept on bugging them and finally I got word. Guess what? They failed to give me the credit! I'm so livid. I am paying down the pledge on something else that I do believe in but I am NOT getting the feedback that I anticipated. I'm so mad that I don't know if I am going to combust or die of a broken heart. I am NOT supporting these entities anymore. Keep in touch without always asking for $. I'm so sick of this!!
