the Inuit Eskimo wears the seal in layers. You can see the bottom of her coat, her outside pair of pants, these are waterproof and windproof, her boots, again waterproof. The beauty of this is that with this clothing they have used for EONS, they can hunt, gather be outside in the arctic air with little chance of freezing to death. What I love about the native peoples is that they waste nothing of an animal they kill. They eat, wear, or use for something every bit of every animal they take. Not for trophies.

For everyone thinking that uses for fur seals are wasted, here is a pic of a fur seal hide "igloo" or Eskimo tent. Looks like your classic igloo. Sorry they are not made of ice. Those seals were eaten, their fat rendered, their hides used to house the family, clothing to wear, the intestines made wind proof jackets and believe me the wind BLOWS in the tundra. I'd say that fur seals are used here, not butchered and one pair of boots made, the rest wasted and tossed. I hope I've shown over the past weeks that the fur seal is not a victim, but a way of life. Any more than cows are victims. Cows don;t live in Eskimo villages. Seals do.

this week I have put these baskets made of sea lion gut, fur seal and sea lion teeth. As I have said many times, the native population does not waste ANY part of the seal. They use these baskets to store essential items. They are waterproof inside with the gut of the seal, so a good storage place for the fat of the seal that they use to cook with.

This week from the seal, we have a kayak made out of seal skin. This is used in the Native population for hunting seal. They use every single bit of the seal.ALL of it. they have an incredible way to use it all. This is all the native arctic tribes in all the arctic countries that use these and use every part of the seal they hunt. They eat them, use the fat, use the skin, the intestines everything you can imagine. Just another way they use it.

I changed the image to a A St. Lawrence Island Yup'ik parka made of seal intestines and fur. These are some of the items made from seals. Again a "fur" seal and seal are all pretty much the same There are different species like Harbor seals & Elephant seals and so on, they are all made of about the same thing, they live in different regions so have different names. In the coming weeks as I change the pictures, I'll show you how the seal is used in subsistence living, not portrayed as a poor seal being clubbed to death. It just rarely happens anymore.

So read my review for more info. If you are not well informed on the issue and have seem only that ONE video from the 70's of people clubbing baby seals, read my review. ALL seals have fur, all native Alaskans use every single bit of that seal for survival, food, clothing. Deal with it people. If you live in a warm climate, you will never understand what I'm talking about.
