With HootSuite I'm able to keep up with all the great discussions in my LinkedIn Groups.

Don't neglect your FB fan page; HootSuite can help you check in daily. FB's not going anywhere so you may as well take full advantage.

Okay, I've tried them all, surveyed my friends and researched ad nausium. I've decided I adore HootSuite. It's worth the $6 bucks... maybe I'll become an affiliate.

From my laptop I can check in almost anywhere with the Chrome app. It's not just about posting, you need good news feeds to engage w/ your networks.
