Stacey 90% of the time when I go to bed, it helps me to listen to a non-noisy podcast (like This American Life or WTF with Marc Maron or "Alison Rosen is Your New Best Friend" or 60 Minutes podcast, etc.) and focus on the topic and don't let my mind wander and snap it back if I start to think of other things. It doesn't take too long before I've drifted off most of the time. My husband and I used to listen to the same podcast every night but now we each sleep with one earbud in an ear and keep the volume soft and listen to our own in case we need to rewind or if we're not in the same place or mood for the same show, etc. Regardless of what you do, even if it's counting backward from 100 slowly (my other trick) or making lists, good luck!
