Someone I know sent this article to me (actually by accident) on Facebook (if you wanna find me on my social account, look for "Michael Revanchist") . bit.ly/IlCsxa This article is on why divorce occurs but I think it could apply to any formalized or long term partnership, including couples that have lived together for a long time. Love, Sex (bad sex or lack of, incl.), & Money (financial stress) are always key factors but what is interesting is the play-by-play breakdown of the slices. Some things that I found interesting: "Boredom" is #6 (blunt surprise!), communication issues #2 (no surprise), & infidelity. One of the things I found interesting, though, was #3, "Abuse", which includes mental abuse & that has a list that includes "ignoring" the person or things like "monitoring phone calls" (WTF?). I am not sure of the science behind this thing, but it's an interesting read regardless, probably especially for men, since we miss things sometimes women don't.

Adaptable, flexible, and patient are also important. Which is good b/c there's plenty of things challenging my patience these days!

Despite all the ups and downs with former lovers and/or boyfriends the seas have calmed dramatically. While I used to be friends with a few, we're going different directions in life and it's for the best. All of them currently are either in a long term relationship, madly in love, married, engaged to be married, expecting a child or some combination of those events. It leaves me feeling happy for them that things are working out, regardless of whatever my place used to be in their lives. I think part of it will always be bittersweet, but thats not such a bad thing anymore.

why do i insist on having relationships with men who are not available to me?
