Jessie J (born Jessica Cornish, c. 1988) is a singer/songwriter from the United Kingdom. She is signed to the UK label Island Records and the U.S. label Lava Records under the Universal Music Group.

Cornish is from Essex, and acted on stage as a child in a West End production of Whistle Down the Wind. After suffering heart trouble and a minor stroke at the age of 18, she found success as a songwriter, co-writing the Miley Cyrus hit "Party in the USA" with producer Doctor Luke, and writing for Justin Timberlake, Chris Brown, and Christina Aguilera. She was hailed by Timberlake as "the best singer in the world right now".

Her song "Sexy Silk" appears on the soundtrack to the 2010 comedy film Easy A. Her debut album Who You Are is set for release in the near future. Her single, "Who You Are" was debuted in the third installment of the Step Up series, Step Up 3D (2010).

Debut single "Do It Like a Dude" is set for release in December 2010.
