...Switched from Widows OS to Linux couple of days ago (Ubuntu 11.04) - Going Open Source now, I hope I wont be reverting back to Windoze again :D

Blair ~ Save the Moon! ~ NoH8 I dont see why anyone would want to go back n I dont even wanna begin to list the reasons why and there are plenty of good software for linux. Even if there was that one piece of windows software you cant live without just use WINE or Virtualization. 96% of the time it will work and in almost all cases windows software works better in WINE than it does in windows.

Mnemonic66 I think you are correct regarding Backtrack. I have played around with BackTrack running off a thumb drive in a virtual machine under Ubuntu. -

Blair ~ Save the Moon! ~ NoH8 @seth_mcmahan Knoppix is one of the first if not the first linux distro that was meant to be run off of live media. It is also one of the best I've tried.
If you are looking for something a lil more permanent and always on the cutting edge brining new technologies making the user experience better go with Ubuntu linux. The new Unity desktop is becoming one of my favorites.
Dont forget you can install other desktop managers like "xmonad" "KDE" "Gnome" "openbox" or many others if you dont like it or wish to change up the experience.

Just did todays updates for the latest version of Ubuntu 12.04Alpha (Precise) and WOW my desktop is turbo charged. I hope all the other updates were just as awesome!
