I am thinking about how much I miss the Christmas tree lighting ceremony and skating at Rockefeller Center, window browsing on 5th ave as everyone attempts to one-up one another's X-mas displays, horse-n-buggy rides through Central Park in the snow (following an extravagent meal at Tavern on the Green), spoiling kids rotten at FAO Schwarz at X-mas, seeing the Nutcracker at the MET, staying at the Plaza.... someone stop me... getting misty eyed. Um... er... must be those damn onions.... yeah... that's it

As an Australian we learnt the hard way in the past couple of years with the floods, and bushfires. Of course we also cant forget the victims of Hurrican Katrina PLEASE DON'T make the same mistake of trying to stay.
Keep an eye on elderly and/or disabled neighbors if possible.
Please stay safe and know that there are many Australians thinking of you at this anxious time.
