My monkey created a ghost file for every song I have in my library. One of the files plays the song, and the duplicate brings up a page on Amazon.com to buy the song or album. I might have to start... more

Does anyone use this? I'm sick of iTunes and I'm looking for some other program to manage my music. Thanks in advance for replies or suggestions.

juggaloolddude @scott_hn I abhor iTunes! It's so NOT user friendly. The last straw for me was when I imported a CD that had a couple of tracks done by different people, it fragmented the playlist of the disc, and I can not play it in order, giving me multiple entries of the same disc, yet with only one track per entry. I've tried everything and I can't rectify this. I'm done. Straw that broke the camels back. I just need a program that handles my very large CD and MP3 collection on my iPods/iPhones. Thank you for answering and if it's cool I would love to pick your brain more about this later! -
juggaloolddude @scott_hn streaming I just use Pandora or Slacker. -
Scott @juggaloolddude Yes, sure, pick away. One caveat though is I don't use iPods/iPhones, so not familiar with MediaMonkey's functionality in that regard. I do know you can download a full version for free to try out ( bit.ly/nNHzHt ). If you decide to give it a try, might I suggest you create a new, temp folder and place 1 or 2 CDs worth of mp3s in it... then use that folder to play around with MediaMonkey. That way, in case you screw up (a given, we all do it when trying new software), your large collection won't be adversely affected... As far as streaming goes, yes, I've used both Pandora and Slacker, but you can't choose exactly what you want to hear. Spotify is fantastic, is also built for iPhone/iPod use, and can be used to organize files... but my personal preferences for editing (I'm kind of OCD when it comes to organization of my music, so take this with a grain of salt) are MediaMonkey and Mp3tag (freeware)...
