2 days ago it was the 32nd anniversary of "The Miracle on Ice". I can still remember the day like it was yesterday. I was a hockey fan, but this made me really fall in love with the sport. Without a doubt it is the single greatest moment in sports history.

I've been fortunate to meet many of the players and skate with some of them over the years. I've been to Lake Placid many times and consider it an honor to have skated and play on that ice. Five simple words still bring me chills and goosebumps...Do You Believe In Miracles...

Miracle on Ice!  US Hockey team (amateurs & college kids) defeats Soviet Union at Lake Placid (best professional hockey team in the world at the time).  Team USA goes on to win Gold medal!  We were all glued to our tv sets (tape delay) for this slugfest between a team of youngsters led by Coach Herb Brooks against a Soviet team that was dominating the NHL.  Many consider it the Top Sports Moment of the 20th Century for the US and the century's #1 international hockey story.  For me, it's an iconic memory kicking of the '80s!

Home town heroes from Madison WI:  Mark Johnson & Bob Suter!  The rest of the team was largely comprised of players from Minnesota followed by Boston & Michigan.  A true Sports Fairy Tale come true!
