Spent 20mins looking for a video to rent to ensure peace on our 2hr drive, only to realize I was wasting my time when I could rent for free! I <3 my local public library!

Came across the funniest thing today. A Kim Kardashian fitness DVD called Fit in your Jeans by Friday. That girl can (and will) sell anything.

YAY!!! Finally found all our library cards! (youngest's was missing. Found it in my pants pocket. Havent worn the pants in a week or two *sheepish grin*)

Today (May 22) is U.S. Public Library Day. In 1803, the first public library in the U.S. opened in Connecticut.

Placing Julia Donaldson's The Gruffalo and The Gruffalo's Child on hold along w/the DVD.

I went to the library yesterday. I picked up a book I had on hold.

On my way to library to return books and browse....

Finally received my downloadable media but not exactly sure how to transfer it to either the Overdrive or Kindle app. I can only keep the material for 5 days so I hope I figure it out soon.

Walked over w/the wee one. It seems as if requested items come in for me everyday now. (Just picked one up yesterday).

Dropping a book off ( hey it's actually not late) and picking up a couple that have come in :)

First day full-time went well.

Got Coraline on DVD and 2 Gaiman titles (M is for Magic and The Graveyard Book) for my eldest.

Only 20 minutes until closing. Racing over to pick up the DVD I have on hold. (I'd hate to have to wait until Tuesday).

Went to in pick up two sign language books being held for me, came out w/ten additional books and a museum pass. (I know what I'll be doing these next three weeks).

Know all those cookbooks I recommend? You don't need to buy them, You can borrow them from your local public library for FREE. The added bonus is that when the time to make cuts comes around, the more people who use the library, the smaller the cuts. Your librarian is like a wizard, hard to find and out of print books appear like magic. Scan and print the recipes you want to try, check out a book more than once to make sure it is something you might want to invest in rather than blindly taking a chance based on some crappy Amazon reviews. And you won't end up with a pile of books you aren't really using but are hesitant to get rid of. And using your library is one of the most patriotic and American things you can do.

Time to get more books and movies!!
