Apple pudo haber comprado la empresa Be, o aliarse con Sun, por su sistema Solaris, pero Nextstep fue la elección y con ello el salto cuántico de la empresa a sus orígenes. Cuando Steve regresó a Apple, quedó claro que impulsaría una nueva etapa de creación e innovación que llevarían a Su empresa al pináculo de la industria.
