Want a laugh? When Wikipedia took itself down for the day last week to protest the anti-piracy bill SOPA, the internet was treated to a small consolation prize: the tweeted responses of high school... more

Such a shame that while this gets so much press, the n.d.a.a. Is almost not mentioned. I guess we don't mind turning into a military police star as long as we have Internet
-
Angel Mainstream media already limits our news. It's up to all of us to draw attention to n.d.a.a. A big public interest story is usually the distraction for the "man behind the curtain"....

Even if they do what they are proposing... it won't REALLY stop piracy. The bill proposes forcing ISPs to block access to web pages. lol... yes... for many people, that is the only way they have of... more

Everyone should avoid the blacked-out sites today and show their support for the opposition of SOPA.
-
Allyson Why would we want to avoid those sites? They blacked themselves out as opposition to SOPA to show what the net would like if SOPA went thru. Those are the sites you should not avoid. -
Holly Letson That's their way of protesting. People that bypass the blackout of a site and use it anyway are showing that they really don't give a care whether or not the entire Internet becomes censored like that. -
Allyson Ah. So that's what you mean. Many sites had good links on them though. But I get what you meant now.

It should terrify you that with this everyone and everything can have copyright infringement. Write, email, fax, or otherwise contact your representatives. Sign a petition.

Elizabeth Delacare I signed more than a couple petitions. I wrote my representatives did you? -
Safia Absolutely! That such a bill would even be considered to be passed is sickening.

SOPA's a step closer to Big Brother (not the show, think 1984)! It's a slippery slope to losing ALL freedoms if SOPA's passed! Stop SOPA!!!

maancabur After the loss of right to trial, and council with the passing of n.d.a.a. Did anyone think that the Internet was far behind it? -

If sopa gets passed, its only 1 step closer to making us the next north Korea. Take only 5 mins and send an email to you congressman
-
maancabur First you should send an actual letter they have to answer those. Emails they don't. While your righting them mention how you don't like the n.d.a.a. Law that just passed making it legal for the military to detail us ppl for indefinite without trial or charges
